South Washington County Community Band

The SoWashCo Community Band is a local ensemble that brings together musicians from Cottage Grove, Woodbury, and surrounding areas in Minnesota to perform a variety of musical genres, fostering community spirit and engagement. We are a diverse group of performers from all ages and backgrounds… but we all share the love of music.

Joining the SoWashCo Community Band is easy! Interested musicians can attend our rehearsals, which are held weekly, and speak with our conductor or band members about becoming a part of our musical family. We welcome musicians of all skill levels and backgrounds. No auditions required!

The band performs a diverse repertoire that includes contemporary and popular music, and some classical. Our goal is to entertain and engage the community through various performances at local events, concerts, and festivals, showcasing the talents of our members.

The SoWashCo Community Band typically rehearses every Tuesday evening from 7 PM to 9 PM at (usually) Cottage Grove Middle School. We encourage all members to arrive a few minutes early to set up and prepare for a productive rehearsal.
